The chart says emergency. Dr. Stat says he knew that already.
Dr. Stat moves through Saint Maybe Medical Center with the confidence of a man who has never met a hallway he could not turn into a monologue.
He is brilliant, fast, intense, and only slightly addicted to explaining things beside glowing monitors. When everyone else sees a normal Tuesday, Dr. Stat sees a three-act structure with lab results.
His great challenge is not medicine. It is admitting that the most complicated organ in the hospital might be his own dramatic little heart.
